Canada Study Permit: Document Checklist & Interview Questions
For studying at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in Canada. Needs LOA, PAL/TAL, proof of funds and medicals.
To study in Canada you need a Letter of Acceptance from a Designated Learning Institution. Most college and bachelor's applicants also need a Provincial or Territorial Attestation Letter (PAL/TAL); since 1 January 2026, master's and doctoral students at public institutions are exempt. IRCC checks your study plan, finances and ties to India. The Student Direct Stream closed in November 2024, so all Indian students apply through the regular stream.
